Graduate Research Student Positions:
One-two open paid positions for U. S. citizens studying in the School of Aerospace Engineering for Fall 2007/Spring 2008. Position is in CFD and aeroelasticity research. Please see skill list, and email me with your qualifications if you meet the eligibility requirements.
Currently I have no paid GRA openings for non-US MS/PhD students. This may change - please apply as usual to GIT-AE, but do not send me emails regarding any particular GRA position or whether or not you will be accepted. On the application, make sure you indicate your interest in Computational Aeroelasticity plus another area. There are other professors who also have GRA openings in CAE and similar areas. If an opening arises, then you will be eligible for the GRA position if you have indicated your interest in CAE.

If you do not need GRA support and are interested in working with my CAE/CFD group, I am accepting a limited number of students – citizenship is not an issue for these positions. Please apply to GIT-AE and indicate your interest in Dr. Smith for Computational Aeroelasticity and/or Computational Fluid Dynamics.

Necessary Skills include:

· Knowledge of FORTRAN or MATLAB.

· Familiarity with UNIX/LINUX Operating Systems.

· US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status Required.

· Prior experience in CFD and/or CSD a plus.

· MS students must be thesis-option to be considered for a paid position.

One to two positions open for AE Special Problem credit in CFD, Unsteady Aerodynamics or Aeroelasticity.
Necessary Skills Include:

· 2.8 GPA or higher

· Knowledge of FORTRAN or MATLAB a plus

· Familiarity with UNIX/LINUX Operating Systems a plus

· US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Preferred

· Prior experience in CFD and/or CSD a plus
