Laboratory #9: Optical and Pressure Measurements in Supersonic Flow

A data report only is required for this laboratory. Please carefully follow the instructions for data report formats.

Additional Instructions
You will need to include results from the two different experiments in this one data report. Do so by adding the subheadings CD Nozzle and Supersonic Tunnel to the Results and Figures and Tables sections of your report. In the Findings section, first divide your discussion into the two standard sudivisions (for Supplement Questions and Additional Observations). Within the Additional Observations, further divide (as necessary) into two sections for the two experiments.
In your Results section, be sure to include all the data reduction information used to convert your data and to determine any theoretical values provided in your report.

Questions
Your report must also include answers to the following questions in the appropriate section.

  1. Discuss the limitations on spatial and temporal resolution of the optical methods to observe flow features.

  2. Describe a method to validate the existence of the flow features that are observed.
